Last year was a hallmark year for youth basketball. With the efforts of USA basketball and the NBA, the scope of the game was changed at the youth level. For the first time, the Jr. NBA put together a World Championship for youth basketball players, an event considered by many as the most comprehensive and competitive in youth basketball around the world.

In its inaugural year, 6th Boro Rising Stars were able to secure the Northeast Regional Championship and march down to Orlando. The team performed at a high level, made lasting memories, and finished in the top 5 teams in the world. This tournament was filled with so many great moments. From building a park and playing on national television, to making new friends from all over the world, the boys experienced what could only be called a once in a lifetime experience.

The Jr. NBA Global Championship is a youth basketball tournament for the top 13- and 14-year-old boys and girls from around the world. The tournament will feature boys and girls divisions, each comprised of 16 regional champions (eight U.S. teams and eight international teams) that will participate in a week of on-court competition and off-court programming in August 2019 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando.
